Reasons why we disengage: 1. Because of a competing interest. 2. Because of an unaddressed offense. 3. Because of an unwillingness to change or improve. Culture trains us to spread our attention but God trains us to engage with one another. Dismissiveness - Minimizing or disregarding the unmet needs someone brings to you. Key Verse: Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. Philippians 2:4 (TPT) Marriage will not fix you, but it will expose you. We all should be loved despite our imperfections but we shouldn’t make the people we love subject to a lifetime of suffering because we refuse to address them. Discussion Questions: 1.
