He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick." John 11:1-3 Key Verse: When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it." John 11:4 Key Verse: So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” John 11:3 1. Surround yourself with people that will talk to Jesus on your behalf. Key Verse: Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory… John 11:4a Key Passage: When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” John 11:33-34 Key Verse: Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” John 11:43b 2. Respond to what God is calling you to do. Key Verse: The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. John 11:44a Key Verse: Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” John 11:44b 3. Allow others to help you. Key Verse: Hope deferred makes the heart sick.
