• Series: His Promised Life
5-25-25 Setlist: GOODBYE YESTERDAY Holy Spirit Reckless Love I Believe Sermon Notes: The greatest enemy to the life you want may be the life that you're living. 3 ways to fight the busy: 1. Slow the pace Key Verse: As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him. Mark 2:14 If we follow an unrushed Jesus, we should be living an unrushed life. Key Passage: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG) 3 ways to fight the busy: 2. Make some space Most of us are rushed by work pressure and pushing it because we're either running from something or running to something. The solution is not more time, the solution is more of what matters most. "Love is incompatible with hurry. And I'm always in a hurry." - John Mark Comer 3 ways to fight the busy: 3. Defend rest Key Passage: Jesus also told them other parables. He said, “The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify those who were invited. But they all refused to come! “So he sent other servants to tell them, ‘The feast has been prepared. The bulls and fattened cattle have been killed, and everything is ready. Come to the banquet!’ But the guests he had invited ignored them and went their own way, one to his farm, another to his business. Others seized his messengers and insulted them and killed them. “The king was furious, and he sent out his army to destroy the murderers and burn their town. Matthew 22:1-7 God help me walk slowly enough to experience Jesus fully and love people deeply. Discussion Questions 1. What do you feel like God is saying to you through this message? 2.
