• Series: The Chosen
4-30-23 Setlist: You Are Good (Lakewood) Holy Forever The Father's House Left It In The Water Rescue Sermon Notes: Key Verse: In addition to all of these (talking about the armor of God), hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Ephesians 6:16 1. The devil wants to make your old life attractive again. Key Passage: For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 1 Peter 1:18-19 Hat #1 – The Tempter Key Passage: And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. James 1:13-15 Hat # 2 – The Promotor 2. The devil wants to keep you from your redeemer. Hat #3 - The Accuser Key Passage: So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4 Discussion Questions: 1.
